Feb 12-Mar 1 Gordon Leverton & Harumi Tanimoto: “Día a Día”

Día a Día | Day to Day is a joint exhibition by Canadian artist Gordon Leverton @hamiltonartist and México-based artist @harumi.tanimoto , debuting together in  México City. The exhibition will be presented at #Hashtag Gallery in the Condesa neighborhood of México City from February 12 to March 1, 2026.

Leverton’s and Tanimoto’s collaboration began when Leverton, while participating in a residency in Guadalajara, México, encountered Tanimoto’s work in a museum. This discovery led to an Instagram exchange about their respective practices and, eventually, to the idea of developing a dual exhibition. What began as an informal conversation evolved into a year-long collaborative process that became Día a Día | Day to Day, allowing each artist to respond independently to their daily surroundings while remaining in dialogue. Through attentiveness to everyday landscapes, architectural forms, and the narrative qualities of light and shadow, the resulting works offer parallel yet distinct interpretations of urban life—highlighting resonance and contrast across cities and lived experiences, and framing the ordinary as a site of connection, memory, and meaning.
